Internet browsing is fast these days. When potential customers search for a product or service, you have less than 3 seconds from the moment your website opens, for them to understand if you provide the product or service they are looking for. If potential customers can’t work out what you do in 3 seconds they move onto the next website in Google’s listing. We wrote a blog post on this topic here.

Open your website on your desktop – what do you see on the page before you scroll anywhere? This is the area of your website that we call “above the fold”.
Will your potential customers know what you do when they arrive on your website?
If you’re not sure potential customers will know what you do, get 3 other people who don’t really understand what you do to look at your website and check to see if they know. Remember, no scrolling, just view the page that opens.
Then you should look at your website on a mobile device and do the same test. This is a much smaller screen and therefore a lot harder to get your message across quickly. If your website is not fully responsive on a mobile phone, then you absolutely need to get your website updated.
Statistics say that 60% of searches these days are on mobile phones.
