Google is Dead!
Yes, you heard it here first folks. Google is dead! It has been officially laid to rest, never to be revived again!
Do I have your attention?
Google isn’t dead. But it is a lot less powerful than they want you to believe. Remember, search engine traffic is just one piece of the Internet jig-saw puzzle. There are so many other traffic sources out there today, and if you’re only focused on ranking in Google you are missing the boat on a serious slew of potential customers.
Let me ask you this…
Do you wake up in the morning, fire up the computer, head over to Google and type in one or two of your favourite keyword terms and check your rankings? Maybe you have a hot keyword in your niche and rank high on the first page. Congrats! That’s great for your business.
On the other hand…
Maybe you go through your morning routine and check a couple of keyword phrases, and the depression begins to set in. You’re nowhere near the first page in Google for those phrases, and you feel like your business is crumbling right before your eyes.
What do you do? How do you stimulate traffic? How do you bring potential new customers into the fold?
The Internet is filled with a myriad of different sites and methods to generate traffic to your website. Social Media is huge and the way you use it could be very important for your business! Websites like Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter may be important for you. You can get in contact with us to see what might work for you. Google + is a very important Google tool that can be leveraged for just about any business and is increasingly important for getting your website found on a Google search.
And let’s not forget about the other search engines…
You remember them, right? Yahoo and Bing? They may not have as much searched traffic as Google, but a little birdie once told me that you’ll find more professionals using these search engines and they provide a higher quality visitor.
So don’t worry if you’re not ranking in Google. There are so many ways to increase traffic. I’d like to delve deeper into this topic now, so you get a much better, overall picture of the potential traffic available to you on the Internet if you just tap into it.
Do you have a Facebook fan page? Are you running news feed ads? Are you running banners in the sidebar?
Facebook has over a billion users. That is an astronomical amount of potential customers right at your fingertips. If you’re not using Facebook as a way to generate new business for your company, you could be seriously missing out.
The best part about integrating Facebook into your business is the ease of use. Plus this is a social website, so you can interact with potential customers. They will be emailing, calling or filling out your contact form in no time.
As a matter of fact, you’ll generate plenty of buyers as soon as you correctly tap into this source. If you have no idea how to set up a Facebook presence, we are happy to help. We’ve been helping businesses establish a social media presence online for quite a while, and we’d like to help you too.
For some reason, once the Internet came into being people suddenly forgot about listing their business in directories. That’s a foolish way to think, because people still use directories at this time. They use them on the Internet now as opposed to the local phone book. So it makes sense to establish directories online to really tap into the immediate traffic source available to you.
Some of the best local online directories are Truelocal, MerchantCircle, HotFrog and StartLocal to name just a few. Every one of these online directories will provide added exposure to your business. And that’s the name of the game. The more exposure you have, the easier it will be for new customers to find you.
Yahoo and Bing
As previously mentioned, neither of these search engines are as popular as they once were not that long ago. Google does own the majority of search traffic.
But you still need a presence on Yahoo and Bing. It’s important because the visitors coming from the search engines are of the highest quality and caliber. These prospects are typically professionals, and they have more money, a better education and they aren’t afraid to spend in a down economy.
People love watching online videos. There’s more to YouTube than watching videos about cats and other crazy animals! You can create high-quality videos to promote your business. This drives massive amounts of traffic and gives your potential customers a look behind the curtain so they can learn more about your company.
