What’s The Difference Between Organic And Paid Results?
Paid results, also known as Pay Per Click advertising or Google Adwords, are the results you see at the top of the page when you do a search on Google. There are usually 4 of these paid ads and a small “Ad” on the upper left hand side differentiates them from organic results.
Organic results start under the paid ads with local map results first - there are 3 of these, followed by 10 organic results.
To further complicate matters, Google is increasingly showing “Knowledge Graph” results, this can be an answer to a question for instance, and these results are known as the “0” organic result on the page. Search for “what is a transponder key” and you will see knowledge graph answers in the 0 position, then a “people also ask” result, followed by the 10 traditional organic listings for that search.
